Lawrence Cenk Laws is an Associate Attorney at Dycio & Biggs, who is licensed in Virginia (VA) and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia (EDVA).  Prior to joining the team, Lawrence’s work focused primarily on immigration (defensive and affirmative asylum), SIJS, landlord & tenant, and personal injury cases.  


Lawrence holds a B.S. in International Politics from Georgetown University School of Foreign Service, a J.D. from The Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law, and an L.L.M. in Public International Law from Koc University in Istanbul, Turkey.  During his J.D. program, Mr. Laws gained a certificate in Comparative and International Law.  His L.L.M. thesis focused on international legal protections with respect to linguistic minority rights.   He has also done extensive legal research on temporary protections especially with respect to those granted to Syrian refugees both here and in Turkey. 


He has previously served on the boards for the Capital Area Muslim Bar Association (CAMBA), American Turkish Association of Washington, DC (ATA-DC), and the Gay Professional Men of Color (GPMC).  Lawrence is bilingual in English and Turkish.
